Our Mission

The Condon Arts Council’s mission is to build community and creativity through expanded access to arts and culture.

About Condon Arts Council

Who We Are

Situated in the heart of Condon, Oregon and serving the city and surrounding region, Condon Arts Council (CAC) supports arts in the region with programs and productions open to the public throughout the year. Classes include painting, ceramics, performing arts, video production camps, and more!

CAC was established in 2021 in response to local arts programming dwindling until there were very few opportunities for children, students, or adults. At one point, sports were the only extracurricular activity available to local youth and the few individuals who taught occasional art classes no longer did as an effect of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. Located in a rural part of Oregon, in one of the least populated counties in the state, exposure to the arts wasn’t going to happen by chance and community members recognized that a solution must come from within the frontier community.

Initially established with the goal of engaging the younger generations and providing a diversity of activity, CAC has evolved to produce workshops, classes, music concerts, theatre productions, and an artist in residence program. Larger projects are underway with the recent purchase of the historic Liberty Theatre and neighboring building, and community response to both initiatives and programming has been positive, engaged, and inspiring.

Creativity has always been a part of our community and Condon Arts Council is thrilled to support and witness this part of our city flourish!
